In the July 23, 2002, Federal Register, the Coast Guard seeks, by August 22, 2002, comments on its proposal to extend the 96-hour advance notification of arrival temporary rulemaking, put into place in response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The Coast Guard is considering making this a permanent regulation.
