Maritime Security in U.S./Canada Boundary

The U.S. Coast Guard issued a Navigation and Vessel Inspection Circular (NVIC) providing guidance with regard to maritime security compliance and enforcement in U.S./Canada boundary and coastal waters. Among other things, the NVIC provides that information received from Transport Canada regarding Canadian examination of a ship may be used by the U.S. Coast Guard in its targeting decisions. NVIC 12-04 (HK Law).
