St. Lawrence Seaway Opens

The Great Lakes – St. Lawrence Seaway System issued a notice stating that the Montreal/Lake Ontario portion of the Seaway will open at 0800 on March 22, 2008 and that the Welland Canal will open at 0800 on March 20, 2008. The maximum allowable draft for the Montreal/Lake Ontario portion will be 80.0 dm and for the Welland Canal will be 80.8 dm. Seaway Notice No. 1-2008 (2/21/08).
