Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

July 25, 2009

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will host a webcast on July 27 at 1:00 pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time for vessel operators required to comply with the Vessel General Permit (VGP).

EPA will discuss the vessel Electronic-Notice of Intent (e-NOI) system to apply for coverage, as well as provide answers to a few key frequently asked questions about the permit.  Finally, industry professionals who have direct experience implementing the VGP on various classes of vessels will discuss how they are meeting the requirements of the permit.

The VGP applies to all commercial vessels of 79 feet in length or greater, as well as to ballast water discharges from commercial vessels regardless of length.

You must register in advance to participate in this webcast. Visit the NPDES Web site at www.epa.gov/npdes/training to register.

With the advent of fuel transition, digitalization, AI and autonomy, innovation in vessel design and operation proceeds at unprecedented speed.
